On 1 December of this year, glass carrier Van Huët received the innovation prize for its most recent concept, the Transloader. Developed with sister company Meierling, the Transloader was deemed the most innovative glass and general cargo transport concept at the award show for Saint Gobain service providers!
Van Huët launched a clever, patented concept with the Transloader; one that is already proving its worth. For some time already, the prototype has been driving between France and Spain, transporting glass cargo one way and general cargo the other way. The use of foldable glass stillages enables the use of these two types of transport. The Transloader can transport 25.2 tonnes in 40-tonnes countries, but also jumbo sized float glass up to 9 meters. In its 'general cargo-mode', the concept can transport up to 33 EUR-pallets or 26 industrial pallets.
A better environment
Clients using the Van Huët concept will contribute to a better environment; CO2 emissions can be reduced up to 60%. Furthermore, this concept leads to less trucks on the road for the same volume and the Transloader results in less 'empty' kilometres. Just imagine the cost-saving effects for the client. Owing to the joint development of a new concept and its accompanying advantages, Saint Gobain awarded Van Huët the innovation prize!
